What is testosterone cypionate?

Testosterone cypionate is a pharmaceutical drug. It is an injectable solution given to the muscle. Testosterone cypionate is a self-injectable drug. You can give this medication to yourself at home after your medic shows you how to do so.

Testosterone cypionate is known as the brand-name medicine Depo-Testosterone. It’s also available as a generic drug. Sometimes, they are not available in every strength or form as brand-name drugs.

Why it is used

Testosterone cypionate is used to treat signs of hypogonadism in males. In this disorder, men do not produce enough sex hormone testosterone.

Low testosterone levels in men can lead to mood changes, poor concentration, erectile dysfunction (trouble getting or keeping an erection), and low sex drive. It can also cause reduced growth of the penis and testicles, gynecomastia (breast growth), loss of body hair and muscle mass, anemia, and osteoporosis.

How it works

Testosterone cypionate belongs to a type of drug called androgens. A class of drugs is a group of medications that work similarly. Testosterone cypionate is used to treat hypogonadism in men by replacing the testosterone your body fails to make.

It may take some weeks or a few days for mild side effects to disappear. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if they don't move away or are more severe.

How to take testosterone cypionate

Dosage for primary hypogonadism

Adult dosage (ages 18 years and older)

• Starting dosage: Your dosage relies on your age and diagnosis. Your doctor will decide on a dosage based on your needs. It is injected into your muscle every two to four weeks at a dosage of 50 to 400 mg.
• Dosage increases: Your physician may change your dosage based on your testosterone blood levels, response to cure, and side effects.
• Maximum Dosage: Every two weeks, you can inject 400 mg into your muscle.

Take as directed

Testosterone cypionate injectable result has been used for long-term treatment. It comes with serious pitfalls if you don’t take it as prescribed.

If you stop taking the drug suddenly or don’t take it at all: For this drug to be effective, a specific quantity needs to be present in your body continuously. If you choose not to take this medication, you may still experience symptoms of low testosterone.

If you miss doses or don’t take the drug on schedule: The effectiveness of your medication may be reduced or completely cease. For this drug to be effective, a certain level must be maintained in your body consistently.

If you take too much: You could contain harmful levels of the drug in your body. Symptoms can include:

If the medicine is working:
